The land of maple syrup, creemies, snowy winters and even better summers - Burlington, Vermont. USA

  • Do you travel for shoots?

Definitely! My bags are packed, where are we going?!

Pricing, Licensing & Usage:

  • What do you charge?

My pricing reflects four categories of value: Creative, Post Production, General Expenses / Travel and Licensing.

Creative Fee - reflects the time, planning, and skill it to takes to complete the project. includes all pre-production and day-of activities.
Post Production Fee - is extensive for my work. After our shoot, I spend a substantial amount of time perfecting your images with various editing techniques. This can include compositing, retouching, color correction, and preparing master files for final delivery. It is not unusual for the post production work to consume as much time, if not more than the photography itself.
General Expenses - Operational costs, insurance, equipment, supplies and travel expenses.
Licensing - Grants the following usage in perpetuity: Website/Portfolio, Social Media, Trade Competitions, Magazine Ads, Trade Show Ads, Corporate, and Wall Displays.

  • What is cost-sharing?

It is very beneficial to consider other parties who might benefit from photographs of your project: The owner, interior designers, landscape architects, contractors, consultants, tenants, product manufacturers, engineers, etc. I charge a licensing fee for each additional party, then divide the total fee by the number of parties involved, which can lead to huge savings for each client.

  • Who owns the images after a shoot?

Ryan Bent Photography retains the copyrights to all the images I create. Images are licensed to clients for specific use and duration.
    • Think of it like music. If someone at Ford buys a song on iTunes, they don’t actually own the song, and while they can listen to any particular song as many times as they want while they work, if they want to use that song in a TV commercial for the new F150, they have to negotiate additional licensing that reflects the vastly different usage of the song.

  • Is licensing included in your pricing?

Yes, all of my commissioned shoots include licensing for the following usages in perpetuity: Website/Portfolio, Social Media, Trade Competitions, Magazine Ads, Trade Show Ads, Corporate, and Wall Displays.
    • Additional usage may require an additional licensing fee.

  • How can I license images that you created for another client?

Email me to request licensing information specific to the image in question. - ryan@ryanbent.com

  • Is it okay to share the images with other parties or entities?

Only the parties who have licensed the photos are allowed to use them. Others interested in using the images may obtain the appropriate license from Ryan Bent Photography.

  • Is it okay to share photos on social media?

Definitely! Please include photo credit: Ryan Bent Photography | @ryanbentphoto
