Hyde Manor to Ransomvale Farm, Vermont
With a mediocre winter in Vermont, Adam and I decided to take a drive south of Burlington to explore his late aunts farm in Castleton, VT. What we thought was going to be a drive down to a farm, turned into exploring decrepit building. We drove down route 7 and had to make a pit stop at the Hyde Manor. The enormous manor is tucked away in the woods slowly being overtaken by the forest surrounding it. Built in 1865 this manor has a rooted history in Vermont that can be read more about here: LINK. After a quick look around, and speculating what came of this estate, we moved on to check out a burned out A-Frame house before making it to Ransomvale Farm. Ransomvale Farm is a dairy farm that sits on a quiet country road. We walked around the property, talked shop with the farmers, and got chased by massive cows. Here are some photos from our quintessential Vermont Sunday.
