Piraeus Meat Market, Greece

The Piraeus meat market, just outside of Athens, Greece, was a sight to see, especially because we don't see many open air markets in the U.S., aside from your weekly farmers' market. Chelsea and I wandered into this amazing market early in the morning, as the sun was cutting down the street and all the fresh meat and fish were being put out on display. As we walked down the street, butchers portioned out cuts of meat, filleted fish, and stacked fresh vegetables for the day. The butchers prepped their booths and caught up with their friends over espresso and cigarettes, as the first set of customers trickled in.
